Council resolved at the Ordinary Meeting held on Monday 12 December 2022 to consider the sale of the currently underutilised asset at 4 George Street Somerset and proceed with advertising an intention to sell to inform the decision.
Expressions of Interest are currently being accepted for the role of Waratah-Wynyard Council Foreshore Market Coordinator.
Interested parties should submit their application to Council by close of business Friday 9 December 2022.
Council advises that our offices will be closed on Monday, 7 November to observe the Recreation Day public holiday. The Wynyard Waste Transfer Station, however, will operate as per usual hours.
Ten appointed community members will soon advise Waratah-Wynyard Council on environmental sustainability as part of a newly created Sustainability and Environmental Advisory Panel (SEAP), creating an exciting new and collaborative platform for environmental advocacy in local government.

The Annual General Meeting of the Waratah-Wynyard Council for the year ended 30 June 2022 will be held on Monday, 24 October 2022, commencing at 5.30 pm at the Council Chambers, 21 Saunders Street, Wynyard. The Annual Report is available on the Council’s website.

To keep the popular Rotary Park playground looking great, soft fall maintenance will commence on Tuesday, 18 October. Small sections of the playground will be closed to allow materials to set. Thanks to our Parks and Reserves crew for keeping the playgrounds safe for our kiddies!
In 2009, Waratah-Wynyard Council and other North-West councils, initiated the North West Coastal Pathway Project. The plan was released in 2010 and produced in conjunction with Safer Roads for Cyclists Tasmania, and the Tasmanian State Government.
Council will be closed tomorrow to observe the public holiday. Please note that tomorrow’s rubbish collection will occur as per the usual schedule.
Council advises that vegetation work will commence at Ballad Avenue tomorrow as part of a firebreak. This will help to ensure the safety of nearby residents. Thank you for your understanding.
