Waratah Community Plan

At the Council meeting on the 20th November Council adopted a recommendation to:

  1. Determine that the draft Waratah Community Plan and Waratah Community Board Charter are suitable for public release and that they be placed on public exhibition for a 4 week period to receive public comments prior to final review and adoption.
  2. Note the Waratah Promotions Plan and agree to release to the Waratah Tourism Association for their adoption.

The Waratah Community Plan and Waratah Community Board Charter will be on public exhibition for a 4 week period to receive public comments with submissions closing on Tuesday 19 December.

Copies of the Plan and Charter will be available at the Post Office along with submission forms.  Copies of the documents and forms will also be available on Councils website - www.warwyn.tas.gov.au

Submission forms can be returned to the Waratah post office or emailed to council@warwyn.tas.gov.au  or mail to Waratah Wynyard Council, PO Box 168, Wynyard, 7325.

The process from there will be:

  • Public Hearing will occur in Waratah in January – you will have an opportunity to present your submissions to a panel to provide further detail. (not mandatory)
  • David Hammond will review all of the submissions and update the Plan and Charter for presentation to a Council workshop in early February.
  • Final Plan and Charter will be presented to Council for adoption at February Council meeting
  • Commence expression of interest for Community Board  members in February

In terms of the Waratah Promotions Plan, this will be provided to all participants in the Tourism discussions and also to the newly formed Tourism Association for adoption.  Copies of the Promotions Plan are also available at the post office.
